The world has no shortage of costumes.

People wearing whatever face gets them accepted. Saying what gets applause. Changing shape depending on who is in the room. In crypto, in business, in friendships…everywhere.

But authenticity, in the spiritual sense, goes much deeper than simply “being yourself.”

It’s the alignment of who you are privately, what you believe internally, what you speak publicly, and how you act when there is nothing to gain.

And there’s an important distinction worth making in the digital age:

Authenticity does not require exposure.

You can be completely genuine without putting your face, your family, your children, your home, or every detail of your life online. In fact, protecting those things may be one of the wiser choices we can make now.

Privacy isn’t a mask.

A mask hides who you are.
Privacy protects what belongs to you.

There’s a huge difference.

KSTO has always meant more to me because of that word: Truth.

Truth isn’t always comfortable. Authentic people aren’t always convenient. And real community isn’t built by everyone pretending to agree.

It’s built by people whose words and actions match, even if you never know their legal name or see their face.

There are plenty of fake people around.

Our job isn’t to become better at wearing the costume.

It’s to know ourselves well enough that we don’t need one, and wise enough to understand that being real doesn’t mean giving the world unlimited access to us.

Be authentic. Protect your privacy. Protect your children. Speak truth.
